Howdy!

I’m Sally McCracken.

I’m passionate about creating accessible, engaging exhibits that inspire wonder and appreciation for nature.

I’ve been writing about science and working in museums and higher education for over 10 years.

I’m a native Tennessee mountain girl, and my love for nature sprung on the shores of Fort Loudon Lake and the high hills of southern Appalachia. My journey was fostered by my wonderful parents, both ecologists and educators.

I studied biology and museum ethics at Earlham College, and I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee (BA) and the University of Iowa (MA) anthropology programs. I use my experience and my enthusiasm for conservation and science education to teach the public about our incredible natural world.
