Nannotyrannus Announcement

In October of 2025, the NC Museum of Natural Sciences unveiled the latest research findings from the DinoLab, confirming that the tyrannosaur in the Dueling Dinosaurs fossil block was a member of the yet-understudied species Nanotyrannus lancensis. This research, led by NCMNS Head of Paleontology Lindsay Zanno, was published in Nature.

I was tasked with creating onsite content to educate our visitors about this new research and to encourage them to visit the DinoLab to find out more. My additions included content for the exhibit’s “Research Updates” digital interactive, “DinoLab Discovery” onsite marketing in the museum lobby entrances, and updates to the tyrannosaur exhibit outside the Paleontology Research Lab.

Blue Whales

Blue Whales was created by the Royal Ontario Museum and on special exhibit at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in 2025. The exhibition centers on the community action surrounding a mass whale entrapment event in Newfoundland in 2014, and how Canadian researchers were able to turn this tragic event into an opportunity to conserve a vulnerable species.

I worked with designers and digital media experts to update several elements of the exhibition to be more suitable for NCMNS audiences, including the introduction, whale song, and conservation sections.

These updates involved text edits, video scripting, directing voiceovers, and organizing and editing content for a digital, multilingual, e-reader accessible QR code CMS for every exhibit section and label. This effort represents early steps in a larger initiative to support multilingual learning at NCMNS.

Moon Tree

In 2024, NASA astronaut Christina Koch presented the North Carolina Executive Mansion with a loblolly pine Moon Tree, sprouted from seeds that travelled around the moon aboard the unmanned Artemis I mission.

I had the privilege of developing a commemorative sign for this moon tree, for display in the garden of the North Carolina Executive Mansion.
